Mental Benefits of Exercise
Here is what exercise can do for your mind:
-
Improve your concentration.
-
Help you to stay focused on
your diet.
-
Help you avoid lapsing into old
eating habits.
-
Prevent you from becoming
breathless so readily.
-
Make you look better and feel
better.
-
Build a positive mental
attitude.
-
Alleviate your fear of
challenging physical tasks.
Within four or five weeks of exercising
regularly, you will begin to notice significant physiological changes. You will
feel stronger both because you are building muscle mass and because you are
reeducating the nerve pathways that send signals between your brain and your
muscles. If you have been sedentary, those pathways have been stagnant, as you
begin working out, the pathways become more polished and you will feel much
more alert. Activity breeds activity. The stronger you become, the more
enthusiastic you will be about physical challenges.
