- The leadership style that dominates the Novo Nordisk would be called as "ethical leadership" or "shared leadership" as they have a vision of business, to seeing the business not only a profit maximizations but also saving the World. Novo Nordisk has realized that, they are in a sector that many companies harm the environment and performing reckless and unresponsive behaviors. However, the leadership instutution directed their employees to be productive in two ways; both in profit - maximization, and also helping to save the environment as we see from text. They also decreased their carbon emmission and water consumption levels as 10% and 17% respectively in the year of 2009.
- Novo Nordisk actually take those precautions and those significant changes as a part of their sensitivity against the World issues, like unnecessary over - consumption, pollution etc. But, as a result of those precautions the market value of the company has increased dramatically, because other stakeholders and buyers in the market has realized that Novo Nordisk has take those precautions so that they are producing better quality products and services first, and second, they care about the world so We have to help them. So, it is possible to say that those changes in the organizational design has resulted the company's being more competitive in the market.
-) Novo Nordisk came up with the idea of balanced scorecards as performance measurement tool, which is very important. Their strategy is making the employees feel like they are responsible about caring about the environment, and plus the much they care about the environment the more they get paid. So, employees feel like they have to keep doing it to get higher marks on their scorecards. The unplannef effect was that, their ethical behaviour has resulted as a better reputation to them.
-) The employees of Novo Nordisk must be asked for their feedback more often than not I think. Because, as system like common leadership could yield in beneficiary results from time to time, there should be a voice in the room sometimes to get the things going, otherwise there would be chaos. The employees of the Novo Nordisk must be asked to communicate more often and in a more health way to maximize profitabality and environment change.
-) I have just checked the website of Novo Nordisk and they barely have information in English language. As far as I see on their website, Novo Nordisk still implies that they care about people; their lifes and their health; not their money. They say that on their websites; and regarding the information I could find on the internet, they have made signigicant strides about diabetes; especially Type 2 diabetes. People of Denmark are sensitive about those health issues as well; so they are getting maximum public support for their projects and they have a great customer liabilites as well. They are also getting maximum support from the NGO's in Denmark, both about their financial situtations and their care about environment.
