Google is tightening its security measures

Hackers and Phishers are rampant these days and an improved security system is definitely a must. Thus, the tech giant Google is boosting its security for the benefit of their user’s privacy. Google will be starting the two-factor authentication as a default requirement when a new user starts to enroll in their system.

This is Google’s answer to security threats on its user’s Facebook, WhatsApp and Google account from various hackers.

Google on Thursday announced in a blog that the users of their system will now be having to enroll in the system's two-step verification 2SV inorder to verify if they are the one who is making a Google prompt on their mobile phones every time they try to login.

According to a blog in Google, Mark Risher, Director of Product Management said: in the near future, users will be automatically using the 2SV functions if their accounts are fully verified by the system.

This can be then checked by hitting the security checkup in your google accounts. Moreover, your smartphones will be asked to sign in and will be giving you a more secure authentication experience than using the mere password.

During the World Password Day, Google declares that they want more users to sign up for the two-step verification procedures. Google will begin its campaign by sending prompts to its two billion Gmail users. Moreover, it will soon begin its two-step verification to its new users.

Using this feature, only the real Google accounts users will be able to login to the account. Thus, making it difficult to penetrate. Without the user’s smartphone, anyone having the username and password cannot accent the account. This is because a verification code will be given to the registered mobile number via SMS, voice call or using the Google app when accessing the Gmail account.

Google also included in the blog report that it has built-in security keys directly to Android devices, and launched our Google Smart Lock app for iOS. Thus, letting the users use their phones as their secondary form of confirmation.

Google aims for the total elimination of passwords because most users tend to use the same password for all their accounts. Thus, the latest features made by Google including Password Import, Password Manager and Security Checkup will lessen the distribution of credentials across the web.

Risher added in the blog that: Soon, we are hoping that the stolen passwords will be outdated, but until then Google will continue to keep you and your passwords safe from any forms of attacks.
