Personal Trainers

Personal Trainers

An option to consider is one- to one instruction from a personal trainer or fitness expert. Some professionals will come to your home, others make their services available at an hourly rate at health clubs. By monitoring your exercise routines, demonstrating techniques and providing motivation trainers often provide an extra push to help you get started and to stick with your commitment. Just the act of scheduling an appointment with a trainer greatly increases the chances that you will actually exercise.

To find someone who can help, call the fitness clubs in your community. Your instructor doesn’t have to be a muscle- bound model in order to help. To the contrary, an instructor who is familiar with the special needs of overweight people may be the best choice for you. Talk to a number of different candidates for the job before making your selection. Explain what you are looking for and make sure they are responsive to your needs. Don’t work with instructors who bully or intimidate you. Remember, exercise should be fun!
